piston rings

is it comman practice to set piston ring end gaps on compressors? if so what range am i looking to get them in

Don,t definitely know for compressors but I would go for 0.003" per inch of bore Diameter.

dunno some get pretty hot... & a sieze is a sieze.....

this is for a fiac compressor. it does get hot but not to hot you cannot touch it, its does not get used a great deal

it started it started to use oil and tank about 15 mins to build up 130psi in a 150litre tank which i thought was along time?

the valve plate and the pistons had about 5mm of paint dust and banked on carbon (got it second hand, the guy before painted cars)
bores looked great, ran hone in them today. the lower engine case had thick black oil in there. fitting new crank ball bearings and rings
