So I've decided to try and make a pizza oven. Twin walled with ceramic insulation. The inner oven skin is bent rather than curved. Its 1.6km steel about 700mm wide. I was going to try and hand bend it but after a quick test on some scrap decided I was going to struggle. I popped into Hiscock Engineers in Wiltshire. They did me a massive favour and bent my steel for me. They did me a great price, did it the same day and were a really friendly bunch. I would definitely recommend them.

This is based on a metal box, despite appearances. It gets loaded on a trailer a few times a year and took to our medieval shows. We have found that the welds crack after a while. No problems for yourself but It's something to be aware of

Yes good point I haven't made a door as yet. I've only cooked one set of pizzas so far and was finding they were cooking so fast I'm not sure I would have had time to close the door!. There is a baffle inside the roof of the oven which means the heat dosnt just shoot up the flue but is forced down first. The baffle is still higher than the opening so the smoke goes down round the baffle but doesnt come out of the opening (mostly)

I just wondered - afaik going down that road opens a whole new world of pain because of Health [cleanliness] regs, liability insurance, the need to list every single ingredient by name & type, H & S regs, the need to warn folk that pizzas are served HOT etc - then they'll be demanding beverages...same applies. etc.
Sensible to give that a body-swerve imho.
Your not wrong, unless you are going to try and make a living from it, I just dont think it's worth the hassle. I made a wood fired hog roast a few years back and it was the same. Although I'm always happy to do a cook off for friends. I'm guessing I'll probably do the same with this.
wheres your rocket stove and kettle got to have a brew as well
