Please recommend some 230mm thin metal cutting discs

I bought some ABRACS ultra thin metal cutting discs from Toolstation. Reviews seemed good, as was the price. Unfortunately, they were useless, the slowest cutting disks I have ever used, including much smaller 125mm discs.

Can someone suggest a brand, preferably stocked by Toolstation/Screwfix or an online supplier?

I'm cutting mild steel plate, 10mm thick. Cuts are about 600mm in length.

Abracs are absolutely crap!

Klingspor are what I always use for everything. They do a 1.9 or 2.6 in 9” which eats everything I thrown them at. Last a decent time as well

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there much difference in cutting speed between the two?

I tend to use the thinnest I can, generally speaking. Less resistance for the machine to overcome especially on newer soft start grinders, or battery ones. They cut quicker and seem to last a bit longer.

Only problem with the thinner ones is they’re less forgiving.

Been using Norton 230mm's the last week on the boat I am fitting out. All Alu work so not sure what they are like on other metals but pretty good on the Alu.

Klingspor are okay and widely available.

Pferd are my preferred now. i've got some 3M cubitron discs and im not seeing much benefit for the price.

We get Abracs at work, and they're very hit or miss. They seem to do different models of discs, some of which are decent, and some are rubbish.
I do buy their poly discs though, as I've found them to be the best for what I use them for.

I can't remember the brand of discs I buy myself other than it begins with a T and comes in a blue box, but they just seem to last forever.

I don’t mind their flap discs if I can’t get Klingspor

I returned the ABRACS discs to Toolstation today. Pack of 5, with one part used. Full refund. I bought some Norton discs instead (they don't stock any of the discs others have kindly recommended) and will give them a try this weekend. If they are no good I'll look at placing an online order for some of the recommended ones.

Used some Norton 115mm a few weeks back.
Loved them but boss didn't like the price even though lasted 3x as long as the budget cheap rs ones he has been buying.
