Plug welding.

I have a Morris Minor and the joint at the top of the "B" post where the rear side window frame joins keeps cracking. I have welded this up 3 times and it keeps going. I got hold of a piece from a scrap car to try and find a permanent solution

I then cut the front panels off and bent a piece of 1" x !/8" bar to fit. But someone on Moggy site said I wouldnt get a strong weld. Trying to weld 1/8" bar to 20 gauge car body.

Opinions please?

That panel hammer needs the face cleaning up!

Plug welding that in would probably be possible, but I think you'd just transfer the cracking to somewhere else.

Generally when you get cracks in any of the pillars it's a sign of failure -- often corrosion -- somewhere else, but I have no knowledge specific to the Minor.
