In the next week I shall be plumbing in a new bathroom sink and will be fitting angled service valves in between copper pipework and tap flexi pipes. The service valves are normal 15mm ball type valves but have a direction of flow on them, is there any reason why I couldn't have the water flowing in the opposite direction? I know you shouldnt on radiator thermostats (causes knocking) but can't see why not on a simple on/off valve that will be mostly in the on position. The reason I want to reverse them is that fitted correctly the screwdriver slots point towards the pedestal, where if backwards the slots point down and are easy to get to.
