Pluming up a Compressor

Im plumbing up a compressor with 10mm air tube, regular air tubing. Usually its those 1 touch fittings that are used for compressed air pipework.

Will those one touch fittings be making a very low hiss continuously. Its a noise that iritates me is that hiss.

Is there a better fitting I could use maybe

The push-in fittings should not leak at all. If they are they need re-doing.

What size compressor? - 10mm is OK for a hose to one hand tool, but pretty small for a proper fixed airline.

If you're not using a proper tube cutter, it's unlikely you are getting a nice clean perpendicular cut - so if you are reusing old fittings, you've probably damaged the o-ring inside them.

Of if your tube has been dragged around for a while and it's surface is damaged, it won't seal. Of course, the threaded end of the fitting needs to be seated/sealed too.

50L compressor, will be turning it on when i turn on the machine, and then it will pump itself up and site idle for 30mins and then it will blow out a pipe at 3bar pressure.

My little Aldi compressor which I use for blowing up tyres leaks air at the connection at the compressor, cheap Chinese fittings, they can be replaced with a quality fitting which should solve the problem, have a look at PCL compressor connectors

Sounds like the tube isn't pushed fully home in the fitting, or the fitting is damaged.

Most on here would recommend 15mm pipe for a fixed home installation but you need a flexible pipe to the wall to remove vibration to the pipe which could help push off that first connection.

I'm assuming you are using this sort of thing - push fit fittings:

In 30 odd years, I've had very few issues with them from a wide range of manufacturers - clean, straight cut, of non-damaged tubing, into new fittings, the fittings correctly fitted and sealed into whatever they are connecting, and they usually work fine. Even use them in machine cooling circuits where various things are oscillating in and out with very few leaks.

Push tube in, pull back a touch to ensure it's locked in and walk away.
