Polishing a butterfly

I made this butterfly in stainless for a friend who wanted a garden ornament that reflected the sunlight.

No mug for scale but it's 60cm wing span. I used mirror polished 1.5mm sheet and kept the plastic film on as much as possible but even so there are a couple of fine scratches where swarf got through. What procedure would you recommend for polishing out the scratches?

Part of me wants to say "angle grinder" because if in doubt, it's the first tool I reach for.

From my bitter experience repairing a Russell Hobbs polished stainless kettle - leave the scratches alone. Anything you do will scratch the surface further and you'll end up using Scotchbrite or similar to achieve an even matt finish.

unfortunately you've pretty much got to start from scratch with gradually finer grits then mops with polishing compound.

sizal mop wheel and polishing compound and finish with a calico mop if only light scratches

Get some autosol on it, polishes anything that stuff
