Any one have much experience of using POR15 Whitecoat?
I am considering using it for repainting the engine bay and inner arches on the car. Initial research suggests that it should give really good results just hand painted with a decent brush.
I use pure sable brushes with the other POR15 products and have achieved some really good results so far - here are the wishbones I recently refurb'ed with a combination of POR15 Rust Prevention Paint and a top coat of Chassis Coat Black.
My concern is that I always like to test new product out somewhere which won't make me cry if it all goes wrong
As such the plan is to get some of the POR15 Whitecoat and a suitable respirator ordered and then I will test it out under the rear beam and fuel tank areas where it can't be seen. It is self levelling so it may drip and run if the coat is applied too heavily. As always several light coats is the way ahead.
The underside of the rear boot floor was originally just brush painted with Hammerite over POR15 Rust Prevention and has held up quite well. I am interested to know if I can paint straight over the Hammerite once it has been flatted down or need to strip it back and start again.
Any advice from experienced users appreciated - failing that I will give Frost a call and pick their brains. They've been helpful when I've had queries in the past.
