Hi,
I've been a lurker on here for a while... looking at projects on here has been extremely useful. Thought I would post some of my own efforts...
I'm using a Clarke 105EN (ebay) with the weldequip conversion kit to proper gas bottles and Air-Products Coogar 5. There is a place local to me in Fowlmere (mentioned previously on the forums, thanks!) that does small Coogar 5 bottles for £70 rental for three years.
0.6mm wire.
Starting point:
Cut back to solid metal and treated:
Repair panels cut from donor section:
First ever non-practice weld! Not as good as I would have liked... not enough penetration in parts but no holes yet!
Plug welding upside-down... harder than I thought!
More repair sections to weld on, one from the donor and one wheel arch section fabricated from scratch:
Comments welcome. I am a beginner, this is my first car project, did welding evening classes last year and have been practising a bit on scrap.
