Possibly a SIP / Performance Power compressor

I purchased a used air receiver in my bid to build a small and quiet compressor, and as part of the deal also acquired this somewhat noisy oil-less compressor. The receiver is branded SIP AirMate, but I'm not sure about the compressor which I'm currently checking to see whether it is worth keeping. The compressor runs but with a hose attached does not appear to output much air. There appears to be significant loss of air from the valve (?) arrangement (circled) and I'm unsure if this is faulty or needs adjustment. It looks like some pressure regulator and I presume it could just be replaced with a pressure pressure gauge and relief valve as per the second photo, found on the internet. Could it be temporarily capped off if I want to see whether the compressor pumps air?

If this compressor is meant to operate without a receiver, is the part circled in red just a simple, and not very accurate, way of regulating air pressure?

I've got one the same. As said the bit circled regulates the pressure, screw it down and you get more air down the line.

IIRC it's not designed to run for more than 10 minutes continuously.

At present, it appears to be seized open and leaks air. One part looks to be a safety valve. The other part looks like it regulates flow, maybe pressure.

Thanks. It is seized. I've taken it off for a closer look. The compressor has good compression. I'm not worried about run time as I'll be moving this on. All I wanted was the separate tank.

I used mine for an air nailer and pumping up tyres. I too will be shifting it on now I have a silent one.

Most tankless compressors are designed for operating constant bleed tools like spray guns that only have a paint trigger, hence the lack of electrical pressure on/off switch. Yours may be original as both comps have the same green tap which would need venting if turned off. The Arthur Price version has been changed to use a tank safety pressure dump valve, something which would ordinarily never operate.
