pot blaster / cabinet project.

I've been making a blasting cabinet ready for some bike parts I wanted to clean up,

Here's a few pics of what I've done.
It's just a storage box from B&Q with some perspex fitted in the lid.
A pair of eBay rubber gloves fixed with a couple of plywood rings.
I still need to make a rubber gasket for the lid and an entry for the hose but it works pretty well with my bargain blasting pot I got off eBay for £25!





This took about 10 seconds to do.

Blast media everywhere thought.....

The pot needed a bit of fettling with an O ring and some ptfe tape to stop the leaks but it all seems to work quite well.
Any advice on what is the best media for general part cleaning and then for when I do the engine,
I was thinking soda for the engine so I won't damage anything IF a bit gets inside it.

What are you going to do for a lid/ Something along the lines of a dutch bar roof with a viewing port?

Forgot the pic of the lid, it's just a bit of perspex fitted to the box lid, it has two clips to hold it down.
The compressor at the moment is my trusty little clarke 25 litre 6.99cfm! direct drive one that seems ok but I have a "project" 3hp 150 litre SIP one I need a motor for that will eventually replace it.

Do you have a port for a dust extractor?

No only the unfixed lid hence the mess I made earlier!!!
What's the best ie cheapest way of doing that?

You want a hole with a baffle over to let air in and stop dust getting out and then another hole to connect to a vacuum cleaner or dust extractor.

a 4inch duct -fitted and put it outside then get a woodchip extracta if u can get one . it will pull out more air than-your compressor can put in -

A K&N or foam filter works well as an air inlet.
