Tried powder coating today. Did some engine plates. One of them has a dry spot the others look acceptable, the finish is not great. I hadn't tried the gun before I did them and when I pressed the trigger it chucked out what looked like a cupfull of powder!
The plates were pre-heated to 100C and after squirting the powder I cooked them at 135C for ten mins, to get the powder flowed out. Then I raised the temp to 190C and after the plates hit 180C I held them there for ten minutes.
After letting them cool down I was pretty rough with them, banging two together didn't mark them and no way a finger nail leaves a mark. I had to ream several of the holes to get them on the bike! Not bad and pretty quick.
