I’ve got a baleigh (sunrise) ironworker 44t capacity and I’m wanting to tool it up with some pressbrake tooling baleigh do the tooling at eyewatering prices (well over £1000) Looks like this.
So I’m wanting to make my own version of this mostly for a specific job which is this a W shape from 2mm galv sheet 130mm wide each leg is 40mm incl material thickness radius i need to measure. I potentially have 1000 to do fairly regularly.
Planning to setup for centre fold then reset for outer folds. I have limit switch’s to set so each fold is the same and I can work out some form of backstop.
The top of the ironworker has this
Which currently a punch holder screws onto on the underside. My thinking is to get a round machined to same as this with the four bolt holes, centre peg and keyway. The other side I can get machined to accept a holder for the tooling
The bottom is on t slots
Which I can use a flat plate and then a tooling holder bolted on.
Top and bottom tooling holders I could either buy if reasonable price or they appear to be a simple machined block?
What I need help is would the above work? (If my rambling makes sense).
How to spec tooling ie size of top punch and size of bottom v piece
And finally where can I get short lengths of top and bottom tooling ideally around 300mm long.
Thanks in advance for any help.
