pressure switch to tank

Bought a new pipe today for my 3hp compressor,from pressure switch to the tank,and the bloke gave me it in plastic.is this ok,would of thought it would be copper.

It'll probably work fine, but I personally wouldn't use it. I'd definitely get that swopped for a copper one.

I regularly use plastic pipe on pneumatics with push fit connectors, on machinery & compressors, nothing wrong with it.
If you have olives just make sure they are suitable for plastic pipes.
If the fittings are push fit, then no worries, no inserts to worry about like you have with plastic push fit water pipes, such as John Guest Speedfit.
The plastic I use is rated at over 10 bar WP.
The only risk IMHO is with regard to the possibility of it getting burned by weld spatter/grinding dust etc.

There is plenty of airline pipe that is 'plastic' and rated to well in excess of the working pressure of normal air compressors.

Always found Listers pretty good, although I didn't realise how many branches they had, always went to the Smethwick one.
