pressure washer sand blaster

Has any one got any experience with the above adaptor for fitting onto a pressure washer

Are they any good how much sand do they use and what type

It all depends on what machine you have,tbh though if your unit is any less than 3000psi and below 20+ ltrs a minute flow rate then your on a uphill battle.
cheaper ones on fleabay are a waste of time with the stainless steel nozzle you need one with a tungston nozzle which i still have.

Forget the bull**** they say about the probe that go's into the bag of sand you spend more time moving that about getting it to feed properley,your better off with a home built hopper as such.
The good thing with blasting with wet sand is no dust so its a lot healther,but one hell of a b**** to clean up(ever tried sweeping up wet sand?) oh by the way kiln dried sand is the one to use.

So a halfords special is a no go then will save money towards compresor

I use a Hobby 88 for blasting wheels and stuff like that. Find you nearest sand merchant and thy probably won't charge for a few 25kg bags of sand, mine don't. I had no problem with the pickup, cut a hole in the bag and stuff the thing in and make sure it's well out the way so you don't get it wet.

I blast on the lawn, you won't notice the sand after a week or so.
A mate of mine used to use one if he needed to blast bit's of panels. He never bothered with getting dry sand, he used to use a heap of sand in his yard, it was there when he moved there. He had a setup involving a chute made of sheets of corrugated roofing and a space heater, wet sand at the top was dry by the time it slid down the heated metal sheets. I got the sand blaster free and never used it till I saw him blasting a rear panel on something, it did a fantastic job though I still feel water and bare metal is a bad mix.

As for the use on metal its slightly better than dry sand blasting,reason being there no heat friction so no warped panels,sure of course theres the rust factor but thats down on you to how you clean up afterwards so to speak.

Its like any form of blasting really,dry or wet,both have pros and cons

it was more for use on a wooden boat the inside is a pain to clean back as its lots of differenet compartments

Not really no,in brief the water is acting like a coolant and acting like a cutting agent,i once had to blast a land rover body an ex army one the guy had already tried dry blasting with sand and found because of blasting in one area for a long time the heat started to distort the panel being ali,with wet blasting this wasn't a problem,only thing was it took bloody ages to do down to the fact the paint was on thick

Not the best idea wet sand blasting on wood,you end up ruining the timber itself,ie opening the grain or splinting it your better off low flow rate and heat
I dont know how big a boat you have but do a google on slurry blasting

The reason I asked was that the instructions of a pressure washer I had said not to use it on bodywork.

I did mine, wings, doors, tub, bulkhead with dry blasting and without any problems.
