Price increase of compressors in EU

If you are considering buying a new compressor I would do it now. The EU has in all its wisdom imposed high importduties on compressors manufactured in China.

Duties ranging from 10 to 77% !

Interesting to see that companies like Fini, ABAC and Fiac have fully owned manufacturing plants in China. (and these companies manufacture not only under their own brandname)

Early january I bought a Fini 3 hp belt driven compressor (manufactured by Fini Taishan) for 445 euro. This same compressor now costs 580 euro!!!

A lot of dealers will still have "old" stocks at old prices, but prices are bound to go up!!

Do you know any more reliable sources of information on the topic? I do not really trust the Chinese media and unforunately I can't read Italian

@dutchman: try googling EU antidumping compressor, there are quite a few interesting documents around. Though it does not inspire a lot of confidence in the EU and politicians in general.
