i`m using cellulose, and re painting my fiberglass bodied kit car black.
I had quite a bad finish on the roof, loads of orange peel(new to painting).
I used,1200 then 2000 wet sand to smooth out the peel then it had a satin finish.
Then started to compound the roof in sections to achieve a mirror finish.
All was going great, you could`nt fit my ego in the garage until the last section,i burned through the paint ,i can see primer spots .
What shall i do ?
Can i blow in some color, touch up ?
Or Do i key up the whole roof, and re apply some more top coats. If so what grade of paper shall i use to key up. As the roof is super smooth.
Or do i start from fresh, primer and top coat.
P.s with my orange peel i`m getting, could it be down to me owning a cheap hvlp gravity gun. As i have a great big compressor, regulator at the gun, Filters fitted ect.
Only ask as i won a devilbiss gti on e bay and was wondering shall i wait till that comes in the post before i apply more coats.
Also the devilbiss gun has a 1.4 fluid tip & gti 110 air cap is this set up ok for cellulose.
Many thanks
