Primmer lifting topcoat

hi guys, i have sanded down a patch on my car to the metal and sprayed it with acrylic primmer as i am going to lay down acrylic top coat and the paint that is on the car is acrylic also.

after about 2-3 min i noticed that all the way around the edge of the patch the paint is rippeling and blistering, why is this ?.

i have sanded back 5 times now and still the same thing, i have tried panel wipe but it stll did the same thing.

i have done a few other patches on the car and they didnt do this what so ever.

u will have to use isolater sealer .new paint is having a reaction against old paint

What Brightspark said! There is obviousley a reaction between your new paint and what is already on there. May have been repaired in the past with a different type of paint.

The only solutions are to either remove ALL of the old paint and start again from the bare metal or use a bar coat, something like this

Is it just going on too wet? If it's 1k to 1k, the hot mix can wake up the old paint seeing as the new is 50% thinners. Tried misting on first coats? Build gradually rather than hose a load on, sort of thing.

i tried thin coats but the same thing, once the paint goes down you can see the ripples apear and is softens the paint underneath and lifts it straight off.
