promig 170 snap on

hi there can anyone help
i have a promig 170 with a problem. When i pull the trigger the fuse in the plug blows. I have disconected the drive motor ,so its not that.The cooling fan is working fine. I think it must be the PCB . does anyone know where i might be able to get one or would it not be worth it.

It could be one of the diodes in the rectifier has popped. I had the same thing once.

The rectifier is the thing that looks like 2 aluminium sheets. Check the diodes for traces of smoke or broken casings. It might be possible to buy a replacement if that does turn out to be the trouble.
