Protools tube bender 105

is the Protools tube bender 105 any good what are they like to use and whats the bends like for 2.5mm 45mm cds or t45

It takes a bit of muscle to bend 2.5MM wall tube with a Protools 105 but it will do it. So far haven't had any issues with the one I use at work. The rails bellow are 2MM wall 44MM CDS.

Its the same as mine, plenty strong enough for what you want as i've bent 2" o/d x 1/4" wall cds on mine,

Only down side is if you need formers and guides you'll need to hunt for used ones as this machine is no longer made.

Thats the only problem,
I bought all the formers i needed many years back for mine when they were still making that bender,
you'd need to search for used ones or maybe modify other ones that are readily available?
Great machine though and unlike most of the modern ones its fully portable without the need to bolt it down.

If you fit an attachment to it, (mine came with it) though i'm sure you could make something to work, it'll do 180 degrees with any of the formers,
Infact it'll do up to a 270 degree bend (3/4 of a circle)though i've never tried, but i've regularly done 180 bends in 7/8" o/d cds for propshaft safety loops.

I have a jd32 at the moment with a 1-1/4 die which I use for 1.5mm 304 tube.
Have you ever tried this gauge in yours Chevy ?
I will have the need to bend larger diameter and heavier gauges also so something like this would do the job.

I've not done a lot of 1.5mm stainless tube but when i have its come out well without kinking,
Stainless bends similar to 4130 and i've done as thin as around 0.058" 4130 without problems,

These machines will do up to 2-1/2" o/d, you just need to get the formers and guides used.

Depends if he knows its worth?
When you could still buy that machine which was 10+ years ago the barebones machine was about £2500,
At a rough guess the formers included would have cost around £700-800 ish.

Keep an eye on ebay,gumtree etc,
A guy on ebay had a set of about 8 formers several months back that were listed at about £200 and didn't sell, think he was around oxford area?
No use to me as i had most of the sizes listed,
Cant remember how but think you can do an ebay archive search to find old listings and maybe contact him?

Ps have you used it yet?
Just remembered i have the printed user instructions in the garage,
I'll take a few pics and post them on here for you when i dig them out.

The seller had a load of dies for sale also,were they not for the RH3 ?

I've got one of those benders from protools direct, fantastic bit of kit, I'm bending 45mm 2.6 wall CDs, take some leverage but bends nicely and easy to use even for a fool like me

Your machine isnt coming with the attachment so it'll do up to 180 degree bends, i'll post some pics of my one and you probably make one that'll work.
