Pump issue

I’ve just bought a second hand ERP 250litre compressor which has a few minor battle scars but is working ok. One of the issues was that it’s slow to fill. Can anyone advise me on what maybe wrong with the pump to be causing this?

1st port of call before you write the pump off would be to check the one way filling valve on the tank

is there a clean air filter on it.

Thanks for your replies. A compressor this size is new to me as I’ve just been used to a 50litre compressor. Where would the one way filling valve be located?

in between the pump outlet and tank

Do you know how quick it should fill?
If not find out the cfm and tank size and pressure and work it out.
Big tanks can take a long time to fill from a small pump and higher operating pressure even longer.
A 200l tank may take way more than 4x as long to fill as a 50.
Make sure there is actually something wrong with it before you start ripping it apart.
