can you get a air driven punch for steel plate??

What thickness of plate do you need to punch? Machine Mart sell a hole punch flange tool which they say will punch a 4.8mm hole mild up to 1.6mm M/T.

Not sure about plate, but sheet, you can.
Can't offer any leads though im afraid, not something i have ever used.
The larger end is hydraulic.

There used to be a few air over oil power presses around, but they're not very common now, some small pneumatic stuff here, and here, bigger machines tend to be hydraulic.

you can buy fly presses converted to pneumatic, just plug in your airline and away you go.

suppose 3/8 usta be one down the road in a shop could punch 7/8 thick the floor would vibrate with the brute force think it was hydralic though gone a long time. there too dear anyway.

You can also get mechanical ones, if you are looking for a cheaper option than hydraulic. they use a flywheel to store enough energy to get through the punching process.
