putting louvers in car body panels

i have fly press tooling to put louvers in steel, but these wouldnt work on car body panels what do i use and how.

Why they not work? Do you need more tonnage? Can not get into the bonnet area? Or another reason.

I would think it would be hard to get a car bonnet under a fly press unless it was a massive press. Can't you make a panel with the louvres in and weld it into your car panel ?

i remember a long time ago a friend did up a mk2 escort,
cut the tunnel out and re did it, so he could fit a bored out 3.0L engine and box in it.
he had the bonnet louvered, said the place charged him £2 a louver.

no idea where that was.

could it be done in a press brake with the correct tooling ?

I have seen a vibroshear used to louvre panels. There are a couple on eBay but neither seem to have the louvre tooling

You need to find a sheet metal workshop with a Pullmax or similar:

very nice indeed, i have up to now only made louver panels and then welded the new steel in. very time consuming. just wondered if there was a q-max style thing you could use.

Welding in panels is a nightmare due to distortion, the best and correct way is with a louvre tool bits or some people roll them in
