pwder coat and rubber bushes

so ive got some bit from my old gsx 750 that im gonna get powder coated. the foot pegs have a sort of inbuilt rubber bush where they bolt on. they arent really removeable and even if they were i wouldnt be able to get new ones to put in.
so could they be powder coated as they are, or will this cause problems, i assumed that the powder coat just would not stick to the rubber but when they bake it how hot does it get would it melt the rubber?

How hot does your oven get?

We typically keep our oven temperature at 400F degrees. Most thermosetting powder coatings cure around 400F degrees. Low cure powders cure as low as 340F degrees.



Can you coat objects other than metal?

No. Our curing oven gets too hot and will damage substrates such as plastic and wood. Powder coating is available for wood, plastics, and glass but uses different technology than we currently offer.

I do powder coating of small parts and could possibly help you.
The normal powder is cured at 180' for roughly 10-15mins but does depend on part size. I would assume that the rubber on the parts you mention is of a higher melting point that the powder and you would be ok.

As adam mentioned the temp is typically 180 deg C. When i used to powder coat bits if they had screw holes or rubber we would just mask them up or use specialist bungs.

Are you using a proper business to do it or a DIY kit? the home kits are no way near as good

no i was going to get it done professionally, just didnt want to waste my time. i also want all the bit to look the same so dont want to paint half and coat half. if it cant be done then ill just have to paint all of it
