Worth having a water/oil filter between the compressor and mask too - there's a bit in http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/paint-safety.htm about the setup.
I went for decent water trapping plus an additional 0.1 micron filter for my mask supply. I suspect the charcoal filter that comes with the mask will add a bit of finer filtering, though that's only a guess. They describe the filter as an odor filter so it ought to be quite fine, and would block quickly without the prior filtering.
Having the compressor well away from whatever you are spraying is good too - no point adding nasties to the breathing supply.
