Question On Grades Of Alloy & Filler Rods

I need to add a flange to the inlet on my Eaton M45 Supercharger so that I can bolt an air filter up to it. I have no idea what grade of aluminium the charger is made from but I'd imagine it's something similar to most automotive gearboxes, blocks ect.

What grade of aluminium and filler rods would you guys recommend I use?

For cast ally, I would use a 4043, I do quite a few repairs for a local bike mechanic, never had any back yet.

As Paul, 4043. Ally castings are nearly always a highish silicon flavour. I'd make the flange out of 6082, common alloy for plate and 4043 is one of the first choices of wire
