Quick connector identification

Hi guys,

I have been given a compressor and it's fitted with a schraeder quick connect fitting! It looks quite old and there are various things out there that look like they could be the modern equivalent... Just wondering if anyone can advise what male connector I should buy to fit to this:

Alternatively, should I just bin this and either buy a new matching set or fit the hose straight to the thread?

just replace the coupling to a pcl. there available at machine mart ect and are cheap to buy . and prety standard

That is a schrader fitting.They were one of the original quick release fittings, Still available as far as I know, I'v had some over 50 years and still use them as my main air-line connectorhttp://www.motivairstore.co.uk/Detprod.asp?ProductCode=S010157&schrader=1&couplings=1

Your'll have trouble finding the hose tails mostly PCL couplings these days, try a hydraulic factor like PirTek, Cromwell tools or a fleabay....

Whereabouts in Essex are you???

It will probably be cheaper to replace with new PCL connectors.

Despite other postings here, schrader fittings are still available at any good engineering suppliers, I bought some at Cromwell tools on Teesside quite recently. When I worked we used them extensively on line fed Breathing apparatus.

Thanks for the replies - sounds like it is probably easiest to just get some new fittings, and looking at the prices these things arent exactly expensive

zzr1200, I used to live in Chelmsford, then near Colchester, but I've now moved to Wanstead, East London

Theres a Cromwell Tool depot at Barking on the left side of the A406 just before the A13 and a Pirtek by Woolwich Ferry but they'll be expensive compared to Cromwells.
