quick release couplings?

Hi people,
not been on for a while,so I'm popping by as I've just go myself a 2nd hand 150 litre compressor. Now I can get rid of the 2.5hp 50 litre compressor,as it isn't great for power tools. The 150 litre cpmpressor is equipped with PCL fittings,and the 50 litre is with uni fttings,so the question is,which is better?

To my tiny mind, there's more choice with PCL and it seem they can be got cheaper. Airflow is plenty too, 40 odd cfm @ 100psi on 1/4" iirc (1/2" PCL has the same bore size anyway I think).

The ones with the bigger hole down the middle will be better.

I prefer PCL, they just seem to last longer, but that may just be me!

Why not hang on to both compressors,you can always couple them and run both at once for bigger output jobs

That's a good idea. Actually,that brings back to memory of someone doing that. I think it was on this forum I read it. Trying to establish how to join the UNI(euro) fitting hose to the pcl line. As I have a water trap,I could screw in the 150litre a male pcl fitting where the female should be,and push into the pcl-hose line a Y pcl female. Then cut off the UNI female fitting from the uni-hose line and push in a male pcl fitting

You could use a Y-piece which has female threads and screw whatever you want into those. Or make something, I made a joiner out of steel tube with welded fittings. Bent tube like a big wide U shape, the two arms spaced to meet the two comps. A tube comes off the middle of the U. One "arm" has a short length of hose to absorb vibes etc.
