Rattle can respray

Hello everyone,
Can you tell me what are the chances of making a decent job with a spray can? It's only one end cap of a Rav 4 rear bumper. I have the new plastic piece already in primer,rather than pay a body shop what sort of a job can be made DIY, I have only ever sprayed celly years ago so know nothing about the new systems base coat. clear coat etc.Can someone advise me how to go about this please,

Should be fine, it's poss to do a good finish with tins. Clearcoat over the base colour will give it the gloss. A paint shop will mix the cans, and may be able to offer nozzles which give a more flat fan rather than the usual dot pattern, which is nice for coverage and also if it's a metallic.

I have done a small bit recently, only advice I can give is take your time, be prepared to do 5 fine coats than 2 thick ones, as I tried to do it quick and got runs in the paint.

As with anything to do with paint, the finish is in the prep rather than the painting.

of course rattle can will not have flex agent you need for plastic parts.
who primered it,did primer have flex agent added???
