Ready mixed spray/rattle can 2k or Cellulose?

Hi, after reading Shoreangler's thread, it made me thinking all the time I spent in a bodyshop learning spraying just with a 3M mask on.

Anyway, the damage is done(if there is any), nothing I can do about it now. But what about the ready mixed spray/rattle can you get from local paint shops and Halfords? Are they 2k or Cellulose? These include Primer, Base coat & Lacquer?

And also, can you get ALL modern car colour code in cellulose?

Is there any link/pictures on the internet showing the different finish between 2k and cellulose? I am still new to painting...

2k is paint & hardener, mix it together and it goes hard

99% of rattle cans are not 2 pack ...as said its a 2 part system that you mix up then it hardens in a few hours

you can now get 2k clear in rattle cans , you press something to release the harder and it mixes in the can

as for pics ...it all looks very nice when done well , 2pack will stay like it with low maintenence and celly will turn chalky and dull

Most rattle cans are 1k acrylic aka base, but there used to be some celly, the cans said so if they were.
The racks of Halfords colours are 1k.

yeah halfords shelf ones are acrylic and the mixed to order are celly

Celly = 1k = ready mixed paint, no clearcoat/lacquer required, Is that correct?

Is the toxic isocyanates only exist in the in the hardener? I have been told you only need hardener in the lacquer/clearcoat, so if im only doing basecoat/colourcoat and leave the lacquer/clearcoat to professional, a carbon filter Mask is adequate?

Also, Can I use the normal basecoat + 1k lacquer? What are the pros and cons?

Basecoat only thinner added, Lacquer and solid colour has hardener. The only thing good to breathe is air !!!

1k clear is pretty poor stuff , and remember the clear needs to go straight away so you cant really take the panels to a pro for the clearcoat

The k is from German for component, Komponent All it means is one part or two part so 1k can be cellulose or acrylic even though it has 2 parts, paint and thinner and 2k has 3 parts, paint, thinner and hardener. I'm confused now. I repaired my tank with cellulose base coat and clear coat and it looks alright but have been informed it yellows with age. I'll wait till it does and then try again with the U-Pol clear coat although I've seen some acrylic clear in a rattle can that should do the job, it's only a patch in. Where I get my paint will mix any colour in cellulose and aerosol can it for you. I got a can done in my Kia colour (Brave Blue would you believe) just to touch in the bumper and it works well.
