receiver with 3hp compressor

I've got a 3hp compressor it runs my die grinder no problem but can't keep up with my angle grinder would a 50 or 100 litre receiver help?

Adding addition receivers will only help short term. You need a larger pump or two compressors linked together for more air volume

it's cheaperto run electric grinders than have air powered tools running for long periods.....
I dumped all my DA sanders for that reason......sxdding 5HP compressor running almost all day....no more.....
what I saved in electric running that comp more than paid for the new sanders....

Agreed. just try finding the small pistol grinders though. Wherever possible I use electric tools.

I'd agree but i've got nerve problems in my hand but i need to get into tight places with small disc's which i can't find electric one's small enough! I'm on a very tight budget

Exactly, the pump on your compressor isn't large enough to keep up with the demand of the grinder. Grinders can have high air consumption requirements.

Size does matter!

It’s Scary how much air a tool needs per minute.

I have a 200 litre air receiver on my compressor runs my plasma cutter no problems.

Also handy for spray painting and grit blasting.

What kind if compressor is it? Because I wonder that this isn't be important.
While I don't know much at a about them, I do know that I have an (alleged) 2hp direct-drive, 50L Clarke thing that doesn't fill its 50L receiver that quickly, and then only to 7 Bar.
I also just bought an old compressor, also 2hp, but belt-driven with a Reciever of I think 150L.... & that seems to fill its reciever in similar time - to 10 Bar.
So, the same power motor can it seems produce very different outcomes, depending upon what & how it is driving?

As a cheap way to add to your 3HP compressor you might want to look for something like this

Don’t be put off by the size it‘s 2.5 HP and would likely upgrade your usable CFM from around 8-9 to 14-15 that’s usable CFM not piston displacement. You’d need to put a 1 way valve at the outlet as it would likely run around 2 bar less pressure than your bigger compressor.
And they‘re often on gumtree second hand for about £40

Sounds like a job for a Dremel. I use them all the time. Mains or battery available but I find mains are best . There are a number of types of cutting/grinding bits to pick from to.
