a freind was about to order up a new part from italy for a bottling plant ar great ££ when i suggested i could repair it by building up with ard stuff and finishing it back to the remaining profile

It is OK as long as that cam was not made as a ‘sacrificial‘ item and the other parts (which might wear preferentially, now) are far more costly - and difficult - to replace
