Recognise this old English bench pillar drill?

Anyone know who made my old bench drill? I can't see a maker's name apart from the motor

question why do you have a weight on the back of the drill

i hope your not using that to lift the drillhead up and down

when you should be moving the table up or down

It's a counter balance for the table.

Look carefully !
Try moving some of the big tables without a rack, mate has a large lead weight on his over a pulley to table, knock the lock on mates floor standing Medings and you could loose a foot

It connects to the table via a pulley, it was there when I bought it. As the table is counterbalanced it is quite easy to finely adjust the table despite it not being on a toothed rack

To actually reply to OPs request, it looks very Fobco to me, same method of belt adjustment as my Star, that screw for a depth stop and the single handle for winding the chuck down. If it is Fobco it has had a few modifications.

yes i would go with Fobco too or could be an early Pollard

To drag this back up, I'm now doubtful that it's English. It seems very similar to a picture online I saw of a Milwaukee DP220, of all things.
