Regulator - repair or replace?

This has come on the newly acquired welder -

In case its not clear, the gauges have been crushed.


Weldequip sells the unit. With delivery, itll cost me £38.90.


Im sure it must be more economic to replace the gauges... not that i can find them.

Suggestions?

If the gauge has had a knock like that there could well be damage to the high pressure side that screws into the cylinder.

It may not be visible but i wouldn't take the chance of it letting go at 230 bar.

he probs means wouldn't be using your damaged reg

ive swapped gauges and had no problems, that regulator hasn't had a massive bump as the plastic lenses are still intact

Just remember to get a new crush washer to seal the nose of the new gauge.

Why do people always take this attitude ? Your brakes are a serious part of your car if you had a bump and the full front suspension needed replacing including hub and brakes would you also say scrap it, I'll not be driving that again ? The gauges are components screwed In to the regulator they unscrew for a reason which is they are prone to be damaged easily

my regs never had any clocks on and I got a pair given of a reg with a damaged bottle thread. unscrewed the plugs and fitted them on no probs . they been on for the last 40 years
