Hi all.
After a lay off from any welding of a couple of years (I was working in a service station patching holes in sills etc - basically the very simplest jobs, and usually under instruction) I was clearing out the shed and dusted off the old MIGMATE S1P (kindly given to me by the used car dealer across the road from where I worked) which had not been used for at least 2 years. I was surprised it still worked after being in the damp and dirt for so long, but it did! Now I'm excited!!
I know some folk don't rate MigMate stuff - as I have read - but I am gonna start getting into making wrought iron stuff during the day, as I work at night, and I just know I'm in the right place for getting to know all the tricks and tips as I have read this site for a while before signing up. I am NOT an expert welder - far from it - and I may have rubbish kit with the S1P Migmate, but I have enthusiasm and am willing to learn new stuff.
At the moment I can't afford new kit, but as I move along I hope to be able to buy something new and again, I know you fellas will point me in the right direction. I just basicaly wanted to tell all you how much your knowledge helps guys like me - a little unsure of themselves - and how good it is to be told it 'like it is' as opposed to how sales folk and the like would have us told.
Thanks for allowing me to be part of the site and I hope this wil be the start of something good, and lord knows I am well due something good happening!!
Regards to all.
Steve.
