Remote draining of air receiver

The location of my compressor doesn't encourage regular draining. Has anyone experience of any form of spring return valve for compressed air that can be operated by a cord or chain. Googling spring return valves produces a few hits that seem to be intended for water rather than compressed air.

My compressor is in a plastic garden storage box and the drain is awkward to access. I took the drain cock out and added a length of hose to run it outside the box and drain it off into a can.

the solenoid ones are good, but personally i would avoid the water sensor type.... have lots of issues with those at work

I have this setup

Elbow - hose tail - high pressure hose -hose tail - lever operated ball valve - hose tail - low pressure hose - container to collect condensate.

A lot of trucks have manual drain valves that are operated with a cord so they can be drained without having to get underneath to do it, so a local independent parts supplier should be able to help.

You can get auto water drain valves, if you just want to remove the condensate from the tank you could plumb one into the drain point. If you want to empty the tank after use you could just extend the drain with pipe / hose and move the valve to a more convenient place.

Remove tap fit extension hose to easy accessible place remember this will have pressure on it all the time, fit ball tap better if there is a drop or at least level run on pipe all 4 of our tanks have this we use hydraulic hose\ fittings

Looks interesting....the pictures show the max pressure as 16 "par"

I just use an auto solenoid. It dumps 4secs every 20min. User selectable but trial and error found that the optimum setting. Both of my air receivers are plumbed into it and drain at the same time. Solenoid is wired to the compressor master so goes on and off at the start/end of the day automatically. Cost me about £30 to do.
