repairing snap on cabinet

spent the day cutting all the bad metal from base and sides of cabinet .made a new box section frame for it and welded it in cut the top out and fitted a new one in then shot blasted what needed doing spray primed it all and fitted the wheels back on . just the drawers to blast and paint now

I've got the same cabinet, picked it up at the scrappy for 2 quid a few years ago. It had been dropped on a corner. Spent a few hours straightening it out and painted it silver. It now holds all my hammers n files

I have an old Halfords box, says Made in USA on it, pre-dates their 'Professional' range but I have yet to break it.

Why not just go and get a new one from them?

just sandblasted all the rust of the hinges and sprayed them with 2k acid etch using a 10 quid small spray gun , it worked quite well for the price . quick to clean out with being small

got the last one finished this weekend cut all the bad metal out and rebuilt it blasted all the bits and painted it. even done my old cantilever tool box . never again . does anyone know the best place to buy some new foam for the base of the drawers

yep if I hadn't got the blasting gear they wouldn't have been worth doing time wise 2 days a piece. I already had the metal use of a folder and got the paint cheap
