The button for unlocking my car has been lost. It could be in the pocket of a pair of jeans, in the bowels of the washing machine or somewhere in South Yorkshire.
Question is, do I need to obtain a new complete key or are replacement buttons available?
I did a BMW Mini key a while ago, it requires a soldiering iron, a steady hand and a few Stanley knife shavings of the new plastic fob to get it all to fit back together but not a particularly difficult job. The battery supplied with it lasted about a week!
Edit- just re read the post, forget the soldiering bit if the micro switches are ok.
I can send you the details of a chap who has a shop that does just that. He is off another car forum but he does all makes. You can either visit the shop or send it by mail. I have had a few repaired and his costs are reasonable and he is in your area of West Yorkshire!
Not sure if I'm missing something here but there are loads of pages, videos etc about replacing the internals on the same Toyota key in the first picture which would surely be better than watching one about a completely different key?
Open fob
Find same dimension switch
Try to have a freshly cleaned / tinned tip hopefully fine but at least weildy
Use some stripped copper wire to suck up excess if needed
Use tweezers as it will give you more space
Sweat joints and lift
