Replacing outlet with 1/2 BSP type

It looks as though the outlet from the tank on my compressor is 1/2 BSP, on which the pressure switch and 1/4 BSP regulated/unregulated outlets sit. As I have no need for the regulator on the compressor and have large bore pipe everywhere, I was wondering if I could buy a new "thing" that fitted the compressor and the pressure switch and just gave one or two unregulated 1/2 BSP outlet(s)?

I'd just plonk an unequal tee onto the tank, inbetween that outlet and the pressure switch, or similar. 1/2" outlet for your feed, with a 1/4" outlet to connect the regulator & pressure switch assembly to.

You could but if you don't need a 1/2" outlet then why bother.
The pressure switch doesn't have a union fitting on it so you will need to disconnect then reconnect all the wires to move it.
Also unless you end up with the switch in virtually the same position you will need to either find the correct olives and or re form the cone ends on the small pressure relief line.

Your simplest and easiest way is probably to go straight into the tank at the big bung that's usually at one or both ends. Saves messing around getting things such as the relief valve to reach at the pressure switch, you can avoid disturbing that lot.

Is there a bung in the end of the tank? If so fit your outlet into that.

There is a tank bung but its at the **** end which is a bit inconvenient, I was wondering if there may be an alternative. But it sounds like disturbing the pressure switch etc may not be a good idea. I was thinking my brake flaring tool would suit that relief line.

Disturbing things isn't a major issue, but if it's avoidable then I'd typically avoid it.
If turning it round isn't an option, and welding an output thread isn't, then disturb it! You can just install a suitable T piece which will raise it up a bit then make things fit, it's quite doable.
