Thought I would share this with you lovely bunch. Hopefully I will see it improve my welding ability but it something tells me otherwise.
It was my Granda's so has some sentimental value to me and I thought it could do with being brought back to its former glory (aesthetically anyway).
What you see here is as far as its going to go. I had a chat with a mate who said he could get me new lettering and symbols made up in his work but at 30 ish quid, its worth it, Dymo label maker it is.
Project included;

Project included;
- Stripping out the entire case
- Lots of sanding
- Some body filler on the top of the case to remove the pitting
- Tried out electrolysis on the chassis (turned out OK but looked so much better with a wire wheel treatment)
- Paint (Halfords Black Satin and Rover Inca Yellow)
- New power cable and a 16a plug
- Added a fan I had lying about for assisted cooling (she's now the Turbo model )
- Plugged up a spare hole under the power switch with a red LED to indicate power (dont really need it as the fan is loud as fork)
- Dinse sockets in place of the old screw type
- New leads with dinse plugs for the return and electrode holder
- Used rubber door stoppers as feet
