I have a Clarke air chisel are there any small, 5 mm, rivet setting tools available for air chisels or hammers, I've just three to do but it would be nice to add a couple of features to a car with a difference rather than just take that for a shop to do.

but cut the end off an old chisel and weld ur own to do the job......theres plenty on car boots, almost free....

I used a few rivets on my last hot rod, done by hand but I made my own rivet set tooling by radiusing a drill bit and sinking it into the end of some 3/8 steel rod. Worked out quite well.

They are called "snaps" or "sets" and the blocks which you hold to form the tails are "bucking bars"

I can't use a conventional bucking bar in this case, they sit in a slot 12.5 mm wide in two cups held with solid rivets clasping a bearing for a 70 mm serpentine belt tesioning roller and I would like give a passing nod to prewar race cars with aircraft rivets elsewhere on the car.

Half an inch is more than enough room to get a bucking bar in but I'm not sure on the rest of the application.

You may find that a windy chisel is a bit too much on alu rivets, it just mangled them instead of forming them propery

Yer, even on steel rivets you reduce the pressure to around 40 psi, I'll go for stainless, you can get them on Amazon, ali ones might let go on a tension roller.

You could make your own rivet snap if you've got an old air chisel punch.
Heat the end cherry red and hammer it down on a ball bearing of the same size as the rivet head. You'll have a half sphere indent in the end of the punch, hey presto!
