Rod storage

im looking at building some rod storage next week, tried searching on the forum but I'm having a brain fart and can't find anything, I know people use 40mm solvent pipe, is there a reason for using solvent pipe as opposed to using push fit pipe?

I'm still using the prototype ones, which are over a year old now. No damage to rods or holder and that's for the little one I keep my MMA rods in as well.

If I could get the fittings for not such silly money as they are I'm tempted to try doing ones with soil pipe. That would increase storage space by about 800%.

Fishing rod tubes are great. I use the narrow ones designed for pole top kits. Search rod tube on eBay and they come in every length and diameter you'd ever need. Very cheap too.

u could make the soil pipe one then just have 40 or 32 mm ones inside that for each different rod no lid needed

Not being anything but a sea fisherman, I've not seen them before Rich. The cordura ones look very nice and it's super robust.

Some push fit some screw fit they come in all sizes and easy to cut down. Great for rods and filler.

Ahh now those ones I have seen and to be honest they were a bit fragile for me. I know you take care of your stuff but I'm an angry ape at the best of times

The cordura ones look ace though. Will check them out next time passing bait and tackle place in town.
