rod thickness

bit of a basic q sorrry
never had to buy my arc rods before as my late dad worked at fabrication firm and always got me a handful from his boss.
am now getting low and need some is thickness of rod just the centre pce or overall thickness?

The specified diameter of the rod is the metal part (not the overall diameter of the metal and the flux). Is that what you meant? Graham
