just wondered how different some 6013 4mm rods made by bohler fox, from a well known agri supplier @70 pounds a box. would compare to, lets say for arguments sake, weldequip 6013's at 11.70 a box.
The quality of the many brands and sub-brands of 6013s and whether you do in fact get what you pay for, is a large and contentious question. A lot of it comes down to personal choice.
If you're curious about the SIF rods, why not give them a try?
If you find yourself stuck for something, you're likely to end up paying through the nose, especially if you insist on a particular brand.
Those rods are not through Ernest Doe per chance??, they price per Rod not carton, at a huge mark up.... There Fincord Ms a great rod, but other supplies would be less than that per carton, never mind per box.....
Rods tend to be quite personal, the biggest problem with cheaper brands is Constancy one batch runs different to another...
Bohler is wery good Astrien company, the Bohler Fox rods are very good. One kilo of Bohler Fox 7018 (i.e. 6013)is here in Prague about 3 GBP, so one box something about 10 GBP.
