Hi all,
Thought id add another car jig to the forum which i made from scratch following some rough plans.
Things went together quite quite well considering i had to decide where i was going to fit the jig to the car (1970 Merc coupe). The front was quite easy as the bumper mount brackets were strong but the rear had no access and the boot floor was rotten. In the end i cut off part of the rear valance and fitted angle brackets through the chassis rails which allowed me to fix the rear swivel mounts. Someone else has already attempted to restore the car and i havnt done anything to it yet so any welding on the car doesnt belong to me!!
I was dubious about the car being able to be turned over as i thought it would be too heavy but i can turn it quite easily from the front slam panel securing with the slide bolt. Only took a day to cut weld and fit to car, considering there wre no plans and all i had to lift the car was a bottle jack and pallets.
