After reading lots of the tutorials and members projects and posts, I
got myself a mig last autumn and got stuck into playing with spare metal bits & pieces...
One of my nephew's toys (plus my liking of the Alien movies) inspired my direction / interest beyond initial practice welds.
These are the completed shots of my first three models - for more pics of each project have a look at my photoalbums.
the first one is my take on the monster from Alien; I've kept this one for myself!
the second is a Shark-Alien-Astronaut hybrid; this was a birthday present to my brother
the third is a Knight-controlled T-Rex Warrior; I gave this to my great-nephew - he loves dinosaurs and was the catalyst for these works.
the 4th is only part-done; has been delayed by the weather (first it was too wet, then too hot -massive heatwave for 2 months!- now too wet again (all my welding is outside in the garden) but is my take on the "charr" from his xbox guildwars game..
-still to come is the body-armor, left hand&axe/sword/shield and the head, complete with horns and spike-weapons...!
all parts are scraps / donated old-tools etc, all rusty as heck but they clean up well with my electric drill's wire-brush attachment
let me know what you think!
