Root&Cap, 6mm Butt in PF position?

Hi all,
Any tips for the above? I seem to be burning through on my root pass vertical up. I’ve tried turning down the current but don’t seem to get the pen necessary.
Any advice welcomed.

Is this a procedure? You'll really struggle to burn through enough but not blow holes.

What rods are you using?

I'd recommend 2.5mm 7016-1, DCEN, 80-85A. 1.2-1.6mm gap.
