Had a poke about on the van to see what I can break even more..
Got my little mig now.
Got a couple of buzboxes..
This is back passenger side in front of suspension.
The plate has two tabs (rotted away) should be on the suspension pillar (is it called that?).
Thought I would cut the old plate off, weld a new one on its about a mill thick.

Should I go thicker, so easier to weld?.
The other pics are hopefully easier.

I think you might be chasing rust for a while...
Make sure the welding at the suspension arm is solid, you don't want that letting go on a corner

i use 1.2 on body work and it works well , bits like that suspension arm bit , its 2mm and 3mm on land rover chassis .
the slightly thicker 1.2 welds well as its a solid edge if you end up doing embroidery , and it works as a heat soak too .
acf 50 the inside after a repair or you will be doing it again in a year.

The rust is always considerably worse that it first appears. If you are going to weld it better. Then you need to weld the new bits to good solid steel and not rust. So all the rust needs to go and there will be alot more than you first think

I always say ,,, once you get an edge you can have a repair . No edge = No chance.

All the way round what you want to fix has to have a nice silver edge , if it hasnt ,,,, keep cutting till it does
cut your way in , and weld your way out.

Acquired this today, any idea what kind of regulator I would need, also I have no idea of the history of the bottle, do they fail, could it be leaky?

Looks like a pub co2 bottle, you need a co2 regulator for that not argon mix.

Says on the blurb to fit a number of different gas bottles.. Dunno.
