rotary table

I beg borrow and steal one at the moment off a mate but dont want the boundries of freindship to become strained, Had a price and the sort of size im looking at something to dump a 20" chuck on is £££££. the enginnering doesnt phase me, however any clever designs would be apriciated, Its the ellectronics side that i have no idea on, the table needs to be of variable speed on a pot, The one i use has also got a stop start foot pedal and can also be controled via the welding sets from a cable when you start and stop welding,. Any advise on this would be much appriciated.

you'll need some sort of geared stepper motor, geared to reduce the torque needed to turn. (a stepper motor turns n small steps) or a mig welder wire feed motor, a transformer, varible pot resistor

try maplin electronics i belive they do a stepper motor kit, you may just need to scale it up a bit

A parvalux motor and speed controler.

Made two similar things last year, for tig welding small pipes, using parvalux stuff. Not the cheapest option though.

any idea on the cost hitachi, I was tiging half a dozen bosses together yesterday without one my hands just wont bend any more!!, any pictures would be great.

Afraid not. Dont work there anymore either so cant get any pics.

It was moutned on a s/s frame and brackets, plywood top (to stop any shocks incase of touching the rod.
