Rubbing down etch primer

I have prepped a panel with P600 and on some areas I have gone back to metal with a DA with 240. I have etch primed these areas and thought I should sand those with P600 too. Well I tried and it just cut straight through the etch back to metal so need to spray it again.

I put 2 coats on last time. Should I have more coats or should I use a finer grit?

either use something finer , or go straight on with your primer after its flashed off for 10 mins

OK...that could be a good option. When you say flashed off - do you mean after it has dried for 10 mins after spraying the final coat of etch?

I thought spraying different types of paint on top of another whilst wet would leave to them mixing a bit!

yeah let it stand 10 mins or so and then on with the primer

shouldnt be a problem with any mixing , modern systems allow you to etch ,prime,base and clear all in one session if you want to

I find it best once you've etched Primered the area just to leave it alone and spray primer straight onto it once the etch primer has dried.

I've tried to sand it down even wet sand and it tends just to rub off.
So now all I do is clean the area spray the etch primer let it dry for an hour then just spray the primer on top.
Never had any issues.

I agree, just let it dry then on with high build primer, then flat that.

I assume it is panel wipe friendly.

2k is but if you don't touch it you don't need to wipe it as long a you get some decent primer on soon.

Aerosol types like Upol Acidetch will melt with solvents.
